Wonjun Lim

Swing dancing since: 2016

Wonjun joined Fidgety Feet in 2024. Embarking on a journey of rhythm and passion, Wonjun first stepped into the world of swing dance in 2016 through a vibrant swing dance community in South Korea called "Swing Kids." It was here that his love affair with this dynamic and joyful dance form began, quickly evolving from a casual interest into a defining aspect of my life. In the same year he started dancing, Wonjun participated in the "Battle Korea" competition, a significant event in the Korean swing dance scene, competing in the rookie category and taking the top spot.

Fueled by this initial success, Wonjun became a regular fixture at numerous regional competitions across South Korea. His skill and artistry on the dance floor have been recognized with an impressive collection of accolades: 10 trophies from various competitions and two championship titles.

In August 2023, Wonjun's swing dance journey took an exciting turn as he relocated to Maryland, which has opened up fresh opportunities to engage with the international swing dance community and further develop my skills. By joining the Fidgety Feet dance team, Wonjun is continuing to collaborate with other passionate dancers, pushing the boundaries of our art form and showcasing our love for swing to wider audiences.

In addition to dancing, Wonjun has expanded his talents to taking on regular DJ responsibilities at New Columbia Swing, one of DC's influential swing dance and teaching establishments. This experience has deepened his understanding of swing music and its intricate relationship with the dance, allowing him to contribute to the community in a new and exciting way.
